Relentless Force

Svķnafellsjökull, Skaftafell, Iceland

This interesting ice formation is where the ice shelf of the frozen lagoon gets pushed over a small iceberg by the advancing glacier. Standing on the ice we could constantly hear cracks as the ice is pushed millimeter by millimeter by the relentless force of the glacier behind me. The dramatic sky was formed by very strong northern winds that earlier in the day reduced our visibility to 50m by blowing ash when driving pass Eyjafjallajökull volcanon.
